My first post! (i think…)
Nov 6, 2012
This blog is anonymous and is written by a fourteen your old. I am from alabama and I wanted to share some of my crazy experiences I have with people at my school and things that I notice here in south. I am a blue dot living in a VERY red state! I maybe just fourteen but growing up with a very liberal parent in a very conservative town you learn who you “go for” pretty quickly. I decided to finally face my fears and start a blog.
I decided to make a tumblr to day because I did my first “experiment” at school. Today I wore an Obama Biden shirt to school. Now most democrats in Alabama would call that suicide, my brother even asked me if I wanted to get beat up at school. It turns out I did not get a lot of crap from people, If they said things behind my back I don’t now. Some students tried to debate me, some kids said Obama needs to show his birth certificate ( so four years ago) one boy followed me down the hallway saying Mitt Romney over and over. It turns out that there was more than five democratic kids in the eighth grade, they actual came up to me and told me that they liked my shirt!
Two weeks ago I was talking to a very sweet girl at lunch about the t.v. show: THE NEW NORMAL. She said she did not watch the show because it had GAYS and Liberals in the show. I asked her what she thought about Romney and she replied “I like Mitt Romney even if he is a mormon.” I thought was the funniest thing i had ever heard! Today at lunch she debated me the majority of the period on how Obama is a terrible president and how great Romney is (even if he IS a mormon..)
orrow after the election. But back to the Obama t-shirt i went to the voting polls with my mom today to see peoples reactions, because people in the past have been.. well rude. It was fine until we were leaving, my mom was putting her ballot through the machine and the man working there told me “ You can’t wear that shirt… Oh am just kidding.” Then he said, “Voters can’t wear shirts like that… Oh just kidding.” my mom POUNCED it was like momma bear protecting her cub. I walked out because I knew she was about to start making scene, and that it was just going to get worse. The man apparently got up and left after beingvery rude to my mother. It turns out that the adults had less “southern hospitality” than my fellow eighth graders. It turns out that if you actually ask people why they are voting for Romney its because they don’t like Obama, they could not give any reasons WHY they were voting for him. Any way I will try to post everyday and I will DEFIANTLY post tomorrow after the election.
