At my school we aren’t allowed to have a holiday formal anymore so parents will rent out this building called “THE LODGE” (a nasty place covered with wood paneling and a disco ball). So at the end of December right after school is let out for the holidays we have the holiday party at the lodge. (Now I won’t be home i’ll be at the beach). Girls have picked out their dresses months ago, and now are just waiting to be asked to a non-date function. So this week, the week of thanksgiving, girls have been wearing dresses and curling their hair, trying to look their best to get a date. I thought if a guy likes you he will ask you. WRONG, or at least the “popular” kids don’t think like that. The girl’s friend tells the guy to go ask her out, and the guy is stupid enough to do it! My friend found out that this guy was going to ask her to the dance but she doesn’t like him. I told her just to tell him no, but apparently If you say no to the first boy you can’t say yes if anyone else asks you. This makes no sense to me but apparently it is somewhere in the guide of “Polite Southern Teen.” Sometimes I feel so stupid around the girls at school. It’s like everyone went to a course on how to be perfect except me! The way these girls act about the dance makes it sound like it’s something important like the Oscars!
